TEACHING EXPERIENCE (SCHOOL SETTING):

Ceramics and Art Teacher  2005 - present

              ● Designing curriculum and teaching general art, ceramics, printmaking, drawing and painting, 
                  sculpture and mixed media to upper, middle and elementary school students.
              ● Program Liaison with Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation which brings visiting artists into the 
                 classroom and students into the gallery world.
              ● Member of the Arts Curriculum Committee and involved in meeting, discussing, organizing 
                and writing arts curriculum for the entire school. This included co-writing the Arts portion of the 
                report for NYSAIS review.
              ● Participate in the Professional Development Committee by helping to research and coordinate 
                professional development days and on-going professional opportunities throughout the school year.
              ● Member of the Community Service Committee assisting students with running community service activities.

Art Teacher  2003 – 2004

              ● Designed original art curriculum to meet the State Frameworks for Art.
              ● Taught sixth through eighth grade general art.

              ● Created and taught the curriculum for upper and middle school ceramics, fifth and seventh grade general art.
              ● Maintained and supervised ceramics studio including operating of two kilns.

              ● Participated in the advising system as eighth grade homeroom teacher and ninth grade advisor.

               ● Planned and lead a day long workshop on teaching ceramics for other independent school teachers. 
                  Topics include handbuilding and wheel throwing, glazing, and kiln maintenance.

Workshop Presenter, Sparks Symposium 2012

              ● Designed and gave “Meditations in Clay: Creating Hand Labyrinths”, a workshop about the history of labyrinths
                 and how to make  the Sparks Symposium for Holistic Health and Lifestyle.   

Workshop Presenter, NYSAIS Educating Girls Conference  2011

              ● Wrote and presented a hands on workshop "Empowering Girls through Embroidery" to educators 
                 at the New York State Association of Independent School’s conference on Educating Girls in January 2011.
